Fósturforeldri: Að skapa öryggi á óöruggum tímum

Hvort sem um ræðir fósturforeldra, félagsráðgjafa eða sérfræðinga í barnavernd, bjóðum við þér að efla færni í að styðja við og hafa jákvæð áhrif á líðam barna innan fósturfjölskyldna. Við bjóðum upp á námskeið sem miða að því að nýta innsæi úr taugavísindum og tengslafræðum við slíkar aðstæður.

Þarfir barna eru misjafnar og krefjast sérhæfðar greiningar á aðstæðum, markvissra íhlutana og sérhæfðrar þekkingar til að skapa stöðugleika, meðhöndla börn sem hluta af margþættu kerfi, veita stuðning við að takast á við áskoranir, leiðbeina þeim í gegnum erfiða lífsatburði og efla sjálfsþekkingu.

Námskeiðið verður kennt í Lífsgæðasetri St. Jó í Hafnarfirði en þáttakendur geta einnig kosið að sitja námskeiðið í gegnum Zoom fjarfundarbúnað. Námskeiðið er kennt á ensku.

Foster Parenting: Creating security in
Insecure times

Overview

Why do we get into this work? Whether you're a foster parents, a social worker or another professional support; come spend a day learning skills to support and heal the lives of children foster and biological families using concepts from neuroscience and attachment.

These are complicated situations requiring specific assessment skills, interventions and specialisation to help create a balance, treat children
as part of a complex system, assist children in learning to cope, navigate difficult transitions and strengthen a sense of self.

We will cover:

  • Understanding the effects of foster care on attachment strategies, in the child AND foster parent.

  • ï‚· Discover and work from a place of support to the child’s “experience” in the present moment.

  • ï‚· Understand the neurology of crisis, promoting emotional safety and managing emotions, using the brain as a tool.

  • ï‚· Work to reduce the re-enactment of trauma.

  • Treatment parenting interventions based on attachment theory to help shift the child into healthier more effective strategies.

  • Helping parents be agents of healing for their children: Supporting children, reducing their stress neurology and mitigating the consequences to children in a season of transition.

Who is it for?

Foster parenting; Creating security in insecure times is for foster parents, social workers  and other professionals working to support these families.
